Consider Bardwell Farm is a nationally known creamery and dairy farm located in West Pawlet, VT, which is undergoing expansion. Our cheeses have won multiple international awards and are featured in many of the nations top restaurants, retailers, and markets. We hand make cheese from milk from our own herds of goats and cows, as well as milk from our local partner farms.

POSITION
We seek a highly motivated candidate to be a part of our creamery team. The job will focus on the production of our fresh goat cheese, production of which begins in May and ends in October. Making this cheese requires attention to detail, precise timing, and the ability to do repetitive tasks. The job will also encompass care of aging cheeses in our caves, maintaining creamery sanitation, and preparing cheeses for sale.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Pasteurization and culturing of milk
• Ladling cheese curd
• Creamery cleaning
• Care of aging cheese
• Wrapping of finished cheese  

IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE

• Availability to work weekends throughout the season
• Ability to work in a hot, humid atmosphere
• Attention to detail and good sanitary practices
• Interest in cheese, local food, and farming  

DETAILS

• Full time from approximately May 15 to October 15
• Pay will be commensurate with experience
• Entry-level position with growth potential
• Short-term housing provided
