About Taza Chocolate
Taza Chocolate is dedicated to the craft of high quality bean-to-bar chocolate that is good for farmers and seriously delicious.  We are a young chocolate manufacturer producing organic chocolate products from directly traded ingredients.

Position
The Finance Manager is an important part of Taza's overall team and is responsible for many administrative/coordination and development tasks to support the overall operations of the business.  These tasks include, but are not limited to: 1 - Financial Controlling, AP/AR & Bookkeeping; 2 - Forecasting; 3 – Management/Support; 4 - Inventory Systems Management.
He/she will report directly to the Managing Director, and be the sixth person on the management team (Sales, Marketing, Retail, Operations/HR, Production, and now Finance).

Responsibilities
-Management and Support of Staff, Teams, and outside vendors: provide reporting support to Finance Coordinator and team managers; interface with our accounting firm, bank, vendors, insurance agent(s), and credit card companies; review company financial reports with management team and Purchasing Coordinator and seek ways to reduce costs.
-Controlling, AP/AR, and Bookkeeping: manage the accuracy of day-to-day activities; prepare for EOM, closing of every quarter, and year-end tasks; comply with local, state, and federal government reporting; cash management, bank deposits and related record keeping.
-Financial Management: provide analysis of financial SWOTs for the Management team and owners; work with the Managing Director to leverage relationships with our financial services vendors and banks; provide weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for our management team; coordinate with the management team and Director on long term financial strategy.
-Forecasting: direct the budget process; work with Sales teams for forecasting of sales figures; forecasting income, COGS, expenses, cash flows, and balance sheet; provide weekly reports to Managing Director; work closely with the Managing Director to develop strategies and plans for long-term financial goals and help make financial decisions.
-Inventory Systems Management: implement improved inventory and costing controls, and purchase order systems; ensure monthly inventory reports are reconciled with inventory tracking systems andPOs; establish costing and purchasing procedures for the Production and Marketing Teams; provide regular inventory reporting to the Purchasing Coordinator, Production Manager, and Managing Director.

Qualifications
Above all, the Finance Manager must be diligent in his/her duties and extremely well organized. He/she should have strong written and verbal communications skills and should be efficient coordinating across all teams within our organization including the Sales, Marketing, Production, Retail, and Operations teams. He/she should have a strong background in financial management and business administration, MBA or CPA preferred, with experience managing the finances of a small business.
-Proficient in Word and Excel, and QuickBooks Enterprise
-Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
-Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
-5+ years of experience
-Must be a team player

Compensation
This is a full-time, salaried position in Somerville, MA at Taza "HQ".  Business hours are Monday through Friday from 9a-6p. The Finance Manager must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends, and to work alongside the rest of the Taza team to achieve goals.
Salary is based on qualifications and experience.  Benefits include company contribution to Blue Cross Blue Shield medical and dental insurance, paid time off, AND a weekly chocolate allowance.
