StarChefs.com 2012 International Chefs Congress (ICC) will take place September 30, October 1-2 in New York City. ICC is a three-day culinary symposium where more than 100 of the world's most influential and innovative chefs, pastry chefs, mixologists, and sommeliers present the latest techniques and culinary concepts to their peers.

The Events Assistant position will assist the Events Manager in preparation of all chef presenter demonstrations and its execution on-site. This position will work with the StarChefs Marketing liaison, the Institute for Culinary Education (ICE) representative and the Events team at StarChefs.

• Work with the Events Manager to ensure all ingredient and equipment needs are met
• Coordinate with Marketing Associate to ensure proper placement of sponsored product
• Work with ICE to ensure specific demo needs are met
• Assist with schedule including staffing and equipment
• Assist with organizing presenter itineraries
• Liaise with Events Manager on host kitchens for chef presenters 
• Liaise with Events Manager on food cart needs 
• Help shop for last minute equipment and ingredients the week before ICC
• Be the point person for staff and chefs for their logistical needs at the eventQualifications
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Prior event experience
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong communication skills
• Computer literate and Excel savvy 
• Experience reading and writing recipes
• Interest in the culinary industry; culinary degree is a big plus
