Job Description Well known television host seeks full-time assistant to help with editing, research, communication and scheduling, web maintenance, social media, and finances. Individual will have the opportunity to learn a great deal about the makings of a cookbook and cooking show.

Activities

• Help with research and editing of recipes, blog posts, articles, and episodes
• Shop for and test recipes with precision. Write up recipes
• Maintain regular communication with fans and show underwriters
• Daily upkeep on social media platform including Tweeter, Facebook, Pinterest and website, maximizing use of social media to increase article hits, website hits, and viewers
• Help with bookkeeping, shopping, travel arrangements, day-to-day operations, some childcare, etc.

Requirements

• Intelligence, curiosity, passion for food and history A MUST!
• Some experience editing and writing preferred
• Experience with social media preferred
• Experience in web maintenance or at least tech savvy 
• Must make at least one year commitment
• Must be motivated, highly organized, and self directed
• Must be located in Washington, DC area by September, 2012 and available for an in-person interview ASAP
• Must be comfortable with children
• Must have a valid driver's license and use of a car  gas for work travel will be reimbursed
• Fluency in Spanish is preferable but not required

Compensation

• $28,000 to 30,000 annually, for approximately 40 hours a week
