Job description

The Queens County Farm Museum is looking for Farm-Educators!      

The Queens County Farm Museum is the largest remaining tract of undisturbed farmland and the only historical working farm in New York City. Each year the Farm is visited annually by over 200,000 NYC school children. We are currently seeking educators able to lead guided tours of the farmyard and run education workshops geared towards elementary, middle, and high school students. Programs are offered Monday through Friday in the morning and require occasional weekend work.

Work is based on seasonal availability. Applicants must have the ability to give tours to large groups of school children, lead workshops independently, and have the physical ability to ride hayrides.  

The ideal candidate will possess:  
* Upbeat personality
* Experience working with diverse preK-high school students
* Ability to lead groups of 30-50 children and adults independently  
* Interest in agriculture, history, and education
* Knowledge of sustainable agriculture and urban farming
* Physical ability to ride hayrides and set up workshops  

About the position: 
·       Work/hours are available late March-May.
·       Summer/Winter hours are limited.
·       Work resumes again September-November.
·       This is a part-time position.
