LAST WEEK . . .
we referenced the key to networking. It turns out that it's not about tips, hints, or tricks - it's mostly about gaining the confidence needed to be able to connect with other humans. It's that easy, and it's that hard.
We were hanging with someone today (hi, Angela!) who put it to us best: there seem to be two ways to look at any situation - 1) that something is totally attainable and one has only to set the wheels in motion to make it happen, or 2) that something is just beyond our reach, so it's pointless to even try.
What we hope is that these weekly messages can help to provide that confidence you need to transition from scenario #2 to scenario #1. It's easy to stay inside our own bubbles, consumed with the idea that the worries (or insecurities / challenges / fill-in-the-blank) in our own heads are unique to us. But the truth is that the worries that master each of us often master us all. There is strength in community, and the hurdles are so much easier to jump once we know we are not alone.
Cheers,
Taylor & Dorothy
