LAST WEEK YOU SHARED YOUR HARDSHIPS WITH US . . .
And among the many stories we read, there seemed to be a common thread - you were not heard, seen, or acknowledged.
Whether it was a potential employer, a boss, a parent, or a partner, your words seemed to fall on deaf ears. It indicates a larger cultural epidemic. With the rise in methods of communication, there is a corresponding lack of fundamental connection. And this - despite having more tools at our fingertips than ever - leaves us feeling more isolated, alone, and lacking in confidence than ever.
It's a daunting problem, but we're interested in tackling it in small, manageable ways. In particular, we're curious to hear from you this week: do people answer your emails? Whether you are applying for a job, or just sending out day to day correspondence, do you have experiences with people ignoring your messages? If so, please share your story. (Pssst, if we've ever done this to you, we're sorry - we do our best to answer them all, though not always in the most timely manner).
Cheers,
Taylor & Dorothy

Have you seen the new Post a Job page? Even if you aren't a job poster, you might enjoy checking out the new features that are helping to ensure better quality, more targeted job posts.
The changes include separate forms for posting internships and restaurant jobs - two types of positions that we get the most questions about from employers. As you fill out the job forms, you'll see tool tips pop up on the right side with helpful hints. We also included tags to improve the job searching experience, which you'll notice at the bottom of any job post that includes them - simply click on them for a shortcut to similar jobs. And speaking of viewing jobs, you can now see all the current jobs from any one employer by following the blue link to the right of the company name. Click here for an example.
Change can be hard. If you have any comments or feedback,
please chime in.
our job search engine is a work in progress. do you have a recommendation? constructive criticism? or have you noticed a glitch? let us know. we're improving every day.
