NICE THINGS PEOPLE SAY

I use Good Food Jobs every day. It's been immensely helpful in my search, and I know many more that adore it too.
- Jen, Job Seeker
First of all, I love, love, love your site (and blog,) and look at it all the time... even when I'm not truly looking for a job (which is technically...right now, and the past two years. whatever.) for inspiration and motivation. So thank you for creating this resource for all of us foodies and farm kids.

We seem to live in a world of contradictions, and one of the most apparent is coming up just two days from now: Valentine's Day.
This Hallmark holiday, seemingly created to spread true love, actually fosters bitterness in many of us these days. Those who don't have a lover to share the holiday with feel left out, and those that do feel pressured to spend money, time, and precious energy competing to show how much they care. We find ourselves fighting the lines at restaurants to get 'special' (read: more expensive) tasting dinners, and feeling bombarded by articles, ads and promotions before our New Year's hangover has worn off. How is it that many of the common cultural acts surrounding the 'day of love' are more insufferable than full of affection?
(Whoopsie daisy. Did we just totally rant? Our apologies.)
As with a lot of cultural conventions, we're all for reclaiming the meaning behind something that was surely proposed and implemented with good intentions. Check out this campaign to re-route Valentine's Day and alter the messaging for good. Generosity Day, as it's called, aims to ignite 1 million acts of kindness, showing humanity, compassion, and true love to others who inhabit this world.
We're looking forward to seeing how the spirit moves us on the 14th, and hope that you feel the same. We all have the power to make a real difference, and these simple acts can not only bring a smile to people's faces, but a strong sense that we are all connected in a meaningful way - and that is the most loving feeling of all.
A happy Generosity Day to you.
Love,
Taylor & Dorothy

In life, the more options you have, the harder it can be to make a decision. Wendy is lucky enough to have a mother who provided good advice, and just two choices. It made it that much easier for Wendy to jump into her passion at a young age. We're inspired by how she gained strength from a personal injury and is using that experience to bring fresh food to more people. Read More
