TO TRAVEL HOPEFULLY . . .
is a better thing than to arrive.
Anticipation can be half the fun. The flip side of the coin is that in today's world, anticipation of the unknown can also be twice the agony (for example, the US presidential election 2016). It's easy to pre-emptively worry about what might come to be, rather than hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.
So where do we find a balance? How do we travel hopefully?
Over the past few weeks you've heard us make mention of Taylor's new venture - Suarez Family Brewery. There were many times where her partner Dan did not travel so hopefully, often making an intense and grueling process of opening even more so. Part of the experience of opening has been figuring out how to 'enjoy the ride' - even when it feels like a roller coaster that is out of control.
For anyone feeling the same, Zingerman's Press just released Part 4 in their series of Zingerman's Guide to Good Leading. It turns out that there's a lot to say about the Power of Positive Beliefs. About 600 pages worth. And all worthy of reading. But if you want the sneak peek to entice you, check out the interview with the author Ari Weinzweig on pages 6 + 7 of the Zingerman's Newsletter.
For those of you looking for the next step on your journey, check out our Education page. We recently implemented the Connect with an Alum feature, which allows you to reach out to someone who has completed a program that you might be interested in attending. If you happened to attend one of the programs on our list and are willing to connect with prospective students or participants, let us know. We believe there is great value in bringing people together.
May we all travel hopefully, and recognize that there is no ultimate arrival, but an endless road trip - one that hopefully has good snacks, epic scenery, and really good company.
Cheers,
Taylor & Dorothy
