NICE THINGS PEOPLE SAY
Your newsletter makes me feel like I'm not all alone (at least on the days it arrives). Maybe one day I'll be one of the success stories you write about!
- Lise, Job Seeker
I would like to thank you both for making the good food movement accessible to employees/employers. A friend suggested this site and it has served as a great tool for me and many of my fellow co-workers I've met and worked with over the past two years. The site found me the job, the job found me a home, and my new home-base is now flourishing with a beautiful crew of family and friends.
- Katie, GFJ Success Story
I love your site and what you guys have created. It is truly inspiring and amazing!
- Rebecca, GFJ Fan
We are so pleased to be of service.

We're doing our best to soak up every possible ounce of summer that remains. So far, August equates to frequent visitors from afar (for Taylor who entertained guests from Montreal, said goodbye to the Vermont's Table students, and met / rekindled with many brewing folks at Hill Farmstead Brewery's Festival of Farmhouse Ales), visits to afar (for Dorothy, who connected dots from the Finger Lakes to Buffalo this past week), and lots of connecting over good food and drink.
Specifically, we've made and enjoyed focaccia from the Saltie Cookbook (psst . . . they are hiring a shop manager. See below) slathered with homemade mayonnaise spiked with Mazi Piri Piri, Franny's homemade chocolate sorbetto and pizza dough (the recipes are available in their new cookbook), and lots of cheese from the Cellars at Jasper Hill (congratulations on your huge win(s) at the American Cheese Society Conference) with Bohemian Bakery's special edition walnut bread (yes, the walnuts impart a natural purple hue to the dough; see below left).
Good times call for good food. We hope that is true for you as well.
While we want to know about everything great that comes across your plate, this week our focus is on ice cream. You've got one more week to snap your shots for our latest GFJ Instagram Challenge. Tag it with #staycoolGFJ and the photograph with the most likes wins - what else? - ice cream from Jeni's Splendid, straight to their doorstep.
Happy Summer,
Taylor & Dorothy

Food Pantry Outreach Coordinator
Ample Harvest
Patience IS a virtue, but it's also a much-needed tool, especially when it comes to job searching. Leanne was lucky to have a mentor in college who introduced her to sustainable food, but it wasn't until she started working in the field that she developed a passion for food justice. Now she's satisfying both cravings at Ample Harvest, which connects good food with the people who need it most. We'd say it was worth the wait. Read More
