HAPPY SUMMER . . .
Summer seems to have multiple beginnings, depending on when you start counting - Memorial Day, the last day of school, the solstice. But by July 4th, it is undeniable - Summer is officially here.
While we often yearn for the freedom of Summer - lush, green, bountiful gardens, warmth and Relaxation (yes, with a capital R) - the whole season seems to whip by in a faster frenzy each and every year. It's the busy season, and any days that are not booked up by work are set aside for visitors, or visiting, or events. The extra hours of daylight are eaten up by extra chores. The twelve or so weeks evaporate like sprinkler water in the hot sun, leaving us feeling ready for the slower pace of the colder, darker seasons.
But in the midst of the frenzy, we do try to find moments of respite, as evidenced this week by our Instagram feed. Don't be fooled by the fantasy world of social media - these shots were often taken while in the throes of delivering kegs for Suarez Family Brewery, working a catering event, or walking the dog before buckling down to write the newsletter. But every moment is meaningful, so long as you take a breath to enjoy it.
Happy Summer,
Taylor & Dorothy
