OUR STRUGGLES DETERMINE OUR SUCCESS... choose your struggles wisely.
While we'd love to feign that holidays are all rainbows and sunshine, we know that on the opposite end of our desire for quality time with family, from-scratch meals, and respite from work, are the realities of awkward interactions, the potential for over-eating, and anxiety over an ever-growing To Do list that continues to mount despite the calendar's suggestion of a national holiday.
But all experiences in life are what you make of them. Where there are traffic jams, one can choose to be excited to catch up on the podcasts in their queue. You are not missing one side of the family, but spending quality time with the other. When you are far away from family, you are making close friendship bonds over a holiday meal. When you are not surrounded by anyone who can give to you, you can give to others.
Whatever the history of the Thanksgiving holiday might hold - from its origins, or in your recent history - we are wishing you a warm, nourishing, and restorative experience.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Taylor & Dorothy

We've unveiled our latest redesign: the new individual job view page is here! We hope your eyes will enjoy the increased legibility from the added contrast between text and background color. We also reformatted the page to make better use of the space, and included a more user-friendly navigation bar at the top where you can easily return to your search results, follow a job, or share it with friends. As always, design is an evolution. Let us know what you think, and if you see any glitches.
our job search engine is a work in progress. do you have a recommendation? constructive criticism? or have you noticed a glitch? let us know. we're improving every day.

details / Our Instagram contest is winding down. There are only 2 weeks left to get your own gnome and take them on your food adventures. Good thing that we have a major food holiday coming up this week - let's see how the gnomes celebrate Thanksgiving.
We still have several items to cross off the Bucket List. Only a few have been achieved, and the list includes food adventures all over this great nation.
prize / A first, second and third prize will be given out based on creativity, effort, artistry, and crowd response. To learn more, visit goodfoodjobs.com/gnomes#prizes. 5 minutes of effort could snag you $500 cash in prize money. Not a bad way to wrap up 2014.
deadline / Contest submissions must be uploaded to Instagram by 11:59 PM Tuesday December 9th (EDT - that's NYC time for anyone looking for a reference). We will then announce our 3 winners in the next newsletter on December 16th. What are you waiting for? Go gastrognomes!
