NICE THINGS PEOPLE SAY
The weekly emails I receive from GFJ aren't only informative, they are some of the best inspirational emails I have received from any company. In what sometimes feels like an unending job search, GFJ gives me a little boost each week to keep fighting and get that job that I deserve. You can literally feel the enthusiasm and the real values that GFJ is trying to remind us that we need. I'm grateful for your help.

In case you are wondering, each week we write the newsletter based on the very things that we are experiencing / feeling / struggling with ourselves. While we're grateful for all of the successes we've had with GFJ, don't be fooled: life presents itself with many other issues along the way. Maybe they have to do with romantic relationships, or other business ventures, or navigating our way with family or friends. They might pertain to projects - be it personal or professional pursuits. It might be dealing with loss or abundance, or just plain figuring out how we want to spend our days and live our lives.
And sometimes the people that we write these messages for the most are ourselves. We, too, need the words of wisdom, the supportive sentiments, and/or the kick in the pants to get going. We're only so intimately aware of what you're feeling because you're not alone. We get it. We've been (or are) there, too.
As this week's Words of Wisdom post says, Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. Even the best of us don't always react well all the time. The only thing that's helped us out of our stupor this week is kinship. We're hoping that you have that kinship to get you through (or can consider us your kindred spirits). We totally understand.
MEET MORE KINDRED SPIRITS
In our opinion, there's no greater feeling than knowing you're not alone. We're thankful if our words speak to you, but we know there's no replacement for in person interaction. Whether you're feeling stuck or adventurous, this might be the perfect opportunity for you.
Sterling College (located in Vermont's aptly named Northeast Kingdom) is hosting their first ever Food Jobs Summit on Saturday June 14th, which is free for job seekers (note: RSVP required). There will be a keynote from Chuck Ross, Vermont Secretary of Agriculture, as well as an optional tour of local food producers and other sites of interest.
The spots are filling up fast, so if you are open to the adventure, it is worth the trip. We wish we had a ride board so that GFJ users could have epic road trips together. We'll add it to our web wish list.
and in case the Sterling website piques your interest . . . .

Operations
Momofuku
If you don't know much about Operations, you'd be correct to assume that it involves a little bit of everything - we like to think of it as a 'kitchen sink' job (pun intended!) So it's not surprising that Aaron's work at Momofuku has opened his eyes to all of the 'stuff', other than actually cooking and serving customers, that needs to happen in order for a restaurant to run. And we wouldn't be surprised, either, if you were jealous of his bird's eye view on one of the most addictive, innovative restaurant groups on the planet. Read More
