NEVERTHELESS . . .
she persisted.
This past weekend was Mother's Day - which can be a joyous and / or somber day, depending on the circumstances. While we paid tribute to a great many of the mothers, soon-to-be mothers, would-like-to-be mothers, mothers who have passed, feminine spirits, and people who nurture, we wanted to take this opportunity to address the Mother of us all: Mother Nature.
Treat Her Right
She never ceases to amaze us. There are assaults on her existence all over the world, but somehow she continues to bring bounty and beauty. Like any mother (or other person or thing that nourishes us) we're taking pause to remind ourselves that even though she continues to persist, that does not mean she will not eventually become overwhelmed or exhausted.
We see it in waves these days - she gets temperamental, blowing excessively gusty winds, doling out mercurial temperatures that go from freezing to scorching within a week's time, bringing torrents of rain and floods and storms.
Although she continues to bring us incredible blooms and florescent green leaves, and an abundance of energy and beauty, we try to remember to always treat her right. Most importantly, we try to remember to give her a break. Anyone can get worn out. And when they do, it's easy for them to lash out.
Here's to preserving and celebrating the miracle that is Mother Nature.
To nurturing,
Taylor & Dorothy
