We have to admit that doing good work is not just about a state of mind, but a state of being. Our ability to produce great work is largely affected by the physical space that we inhabit.
As we continue to plow through September we're reminded of the evolution of our 'work space' over the years - the thrill of buying new Trapper Keepers to stay organized in those first years of lower school, or diligently picking out single subject college ruled 5-star notebooks in high school. Or finally, scoping out our favorite study spot in the library in college (we particularly liked the Hotel School library, as they always had copies of Gourmet Magazine on offer to rest our minds during study breaks). Now it's all about posture as we set up shop at the dining room table / home office, instead of the couch (better posture = more efficient computer work).
These little details make all of the difference.
This week, we want to know: what do you love about YOUR workspace? Do you work outside with fresh air fueling your efficiency? Do you have all of your favorite pens at the ready for effective note taking? Do you carry a Moleskine with you wherever you go to jot down brilliant ideas?
We want to hear (or, ahem, SEE) what makes your work space so special. Submit a photo to our latest GFJ Instagram challenge using the hashtag #workitGFJ. The photo with the most likes by 8 AM on Tuesday, October 1st wins a modern lunch box from Provisions - so you'll have no excuse to 'forget' about lunch during your busy workday ;)
