FREE YOUR MIND.
We have to constantly remind ourselves that we do our best work when we put our work away and play. This practice never gets easier. The idea of 'vacation' or 'free time' always come in tandem with the thought, 'but there is so much to do' and the accompanying twinge of guilt. It's especially hard to be present when technology is always urging us to speed into the future.
NEWSFLASH: every single thing will never be done. That is the point.
When we keep working without rest, the only thing we do is tire ourselves out. On the contrary, when we get ample rest at regular intervals, we move faster, think more clearly, and are more easily able to connect the dots (at least that seems to be the case for us).
It doesn't have to be all play, all the time, but regular breaks, and the ability to truly get away, are goals worth working toward.
What do you do to play / rest? (pssst, you could win a prize for chiming in)
