EVERYTHING HAS BEAUTY BUT NOT EVERYONE SEES IT... our task is to unearth it, appreciate it, and make the most of it.
Last week we wrote about our experience at the People's Climate March. And the education continued throughout the week. We are in the midst of ongoing conversations with people about the march, about the world, and about relationships. While we have a momentary desire to say we have 'it all' figured out, that urge quickly subsides into the truth that life seems to be an endless quest to make sense of the world in which we all live.
And although we know that no one person can make enough of an impact to 'save the world', we keep the faith that every person has the power to provide some sort of leadership, to decide what they value, and to figure out ways in which they can create a life that supports the things that they hold dear. We might not every be able to change the way that other people live their lives, but many of us, very fortunately, have the ability to shape how we live our own.
So we leave you with a quote about leadership, echoed from this week's Uncollege newsletter:
The real secret about being a leader is finding yourself, discovering your purpose, believing in your abilities, and living it every day of your life - thereby growing your value and influence and impacting the lives of other people in different ways.
We hope that this week brings you the clarity to recognize how you can contribute, the support to make it feel possible, and the dedication to make it happen.
Your companions,
Taylor & Dorothy

We are SO incredibly pleased to say that we've updated our Post a Job text editor. What does this mean? Hopefully it means that for every single person that posts a job to our site, it will be a smoother and more enjoyable experience. We've been eager to do this for ages, and finally found the coding expertise we needed to make it happen. We appreciate your patience along the way.
ALSO, if you've been eager to get a gnome for the #gogastrognomes contest (see below), we have some great news. The gnomes have officially gone virtual, and you can downlaod a copy of your own gnome to use in contest entries. Just head to goodfoodjobs.com/gnomes and look under the CONTACT section of the site. We hope to see the gnomes in your neighborhood soon.
our job search engine is a work in progress. do you have a recommendation? constructive criticism? or have you noticed a glitch? let us know. we're improving every day.

details / THE GNOMES HAVE GONE ROGUE! You've been seeing the gastrognomes all over . . . making cheese in Ecuador, hitting up the Pacific Northwest, and enjoying gelato in Italy.
But the gnomes are feeling like they are lacking efficiency. While they love and support snail mail (and will continue to use it as their back up mode of physical transportation when folks can't accompany them across the county) they are clamoring for us to utilize the advantages of the digital age. #gogastrognomes just went Flat Stanley on you. We've created a space where you can download your own gnome, providing a little more flexibility for spreading the word about the great things that you are doing.
Visit the CONTACT page for details. (Don't worry, you can still request our hand-stuffed gnomes . . . they are worth the wait). PS they really are up there. Sorry there were some glitches last week. But give it a whirl now.
And if you're looking for inspiration, check out our gnome Bucket List. They are looking for food adventures all over this great nation.
prize / A first, second and third prize will be given out based on creativity, effort, artistry and crowd response. To learn more, visit goodfoodjobs.com/gnomes.
deadline / TBD. The contest will be ongoing through the Fall, and with the new downloadable versions it's easier than ever.
