NICE THINGS PEOPLE SAY
I wanted to extend my gratitude for your amazing site and blog. I am a Culinary Nutrition Student (who worked in the restaurant business forever before the jump) with big dreams. Good Food Jobs keeps me inspired on a daily basis that those dreams, when the time is right, really can come true. To be able to see the work that people are already doing, and to see firsthand the endless amount of dynamic opportunity available, is really a marvelous thing. I thank you guys for being the people who started it. I will forever be a GFJ follower.

I love, love, love your site (and blog) and look at it all the time, even when I'm not truly looking for a job, for inspiration and motivation. Thank you for creating this resource for all of us foodies and farm kids.
- Kate, Newsletter Reader
[Good Food Jobs] is absolutely terrific. I have followed the site and blog for a long time, and it's clear you have done a superb job of attracting a top-notch community of food/career experts and businesses.

The most valuable resource that we have is each other.
No matter what tools are available or what technology can offer, it all comes down to what we do with those tools and technology, the relationships we build as a result, and our ability to share our strengths for the greater good (which is, in turn, our own good).
In a world where competition is fierce, and people can be suspect, we stand behind the belief that if this food movement is to succeed over the prevailing industrial model, then it must be a joint effort.
Don't look only for ways that people can help you, but for ways that you can help other people. Good karma is a great investment.
Looking for a ripe opportunity? Tanya Fields, the subject of our blog profile this week, is looking for two more speakers for her upcoming event, Not Just Talk: Food In the South Bronx.
-
An immigrant/first-generation/person of color farmer who farms through a social justice lens, and can speak eloquently to the challenges of land access. They do not have to speak in English, they can and will provide a translator.
-
A chef/caterer (a woman would be great) of color who can talk about nutritious culturally relevant food, and what it means to use their gifts in struggling communities.
If you don't know of someone in particular, consider sending along to someone that might have some ideas. Don't be shy. Email Tanya with any leads that you might have.
Cheers,
Taylor & Dorothy

On the heels of our recent email newsletter on diversity, we're bringing Tanya Fields to the table. Her recent experiences - being invited and then later dis-invited to speak at a prominent food conference - led her to triumph over missed opportunities by creating her own. For those interested in furthering the conversation surrounding food justice, find Tanya and hundreds of like-minded food activists at her event Not Just Talk: Food in the South Bronx, on February 16th, 2013. Her efforts are one more stellar example of how actions speak louder than words. Read More
