SELF KNOWLEDGE . . .
leads to a power far greater than any domination can.
2017 continues to be a year characterized by - for us - the feeling of overwhelm. As the world moves at an ever faster pace, we are endlessly bombarded by news and happenings that seem outside of our control.
In the face of that, we constantly remind ourselves and others that there is value in education. We all - presumably - live on this Earth once. And one thing that we've seen proven over and over again, is that the more that we learn...the more we realize there is so much more to learn.
This month we're focusing our efforts on Education. It may seem ironic, as everyone packs up their pencil cases and trades in their trapper keepers for boogie boards. But those of you who have been with us for a while know that education extends far beyond the confines of a traditional classroom. We can't emphasize that enough.
Questions & Advice
To kick things off, we're asking YOU for your questions and your advice (yes, you). This time of year there are a lot of recent graduates out there (whether from middle school / high school / college / grad school / or alternative short-term programs). We want to hear from graduates: what are your questions about the present, and the future? And we want to hear from those for whom graduation is a distant (or not-so-distant) memory: what advice to you have for those about to graduate?
- What did you wish you'd been told when you were anticipating these milestones in your own life?
- For those who have just recently made it through a transition, what advice did you receive that was most helpful?
- For those of you that just graduated, or are about to, what questions do you wish you had the answers to right now?
- If you could sit down with the village elders and soak up some wisdom to take you through the next stage of your life, what would you ask?
We'll be collecting this information throughout the month and sharing it with you all at the end of June. Thanks so much for your contributions.
To collective wisdom,
Taylor & Dorothy
