THEY SAY IT TAKES DOING SOMETHING 27 TIMES IN A ROW TO MAKE IT A HABIT . . .
We're now on newsletter #300. This practice has gone from a habit to part of the fiber of our being. Needless to say, it's one of the favorite parts of our good food job. The weekly newsletter provides a meaningful point of connection and a chance to reflect on what we've observed, learned, and/or what we are chewing on in any given week. We're thankful for the outlet - and even more thankful for the audience of kindred spirits.
Last week we asked people to share stories of exemplary employers and colleagues. While the stories are far too many to list / share directly in the newsletter this week, there was definitely some cream that rose to the top. In fact, the common thread among nearly all of the emails was a sincere appreciation for the folks that acted as true mentors. In every scenario, said person seemed to care about the experience of the employee above all else - their well being, their desires, how to make the most of their contributions.
But this effort was not in a vacuum. These mentors didn't behave this way at the expense of their business goals. Rather, they recognized how genuinely valuing employees (whether current or prospective) helped everyone work toward the same goal and reach a level of fundamental success, no matter how you define it.
Thank you for being a part of the community, no matter how many of the 300 editions of this email you have read.
Cheers,
Taylor & Dorothy
