Good Food Jobs is a gastro-job search tool, designed to link people looking for meaningful food work with the businesses that need their energy, enthusiasm, and intellect. We post opportunities with farmers and food artisans, policy makers and purveyors, retailers and restaurateurs, economists, ecologists, and more.
the gastrognomes is a blog for food lovers who want to put their passions to work. We profile the most interesting, engaging, and unlikely food professionals that we find, and we publish them here to inspire you.

Each week, Taylor (hi!) writes the newsletter intro, and Dorothy patiently edits it (it's me!). And so it goes every Tuesday. Our correspondence reminds us that someone on the other end is going to read these words, but when we press the send button to a list of over twenty five thousand subscribers, we're left to wonder if others do.
Inevitably, a few people will send us a response. Some unsubscribe, some send words of wisdom, and some offer corrections for typos and dead links (more than we care to admit - sorry about that!)
We learn from the exercise each and every week. Does everybody read the newsletter? No. Will it always be pertinent to everyone that does? Probably not. But is it worth it? Hell yeah.
Because the thing that our dear readers keep reminding us is that no matter how comfortable we get, no matter what seems simple or routine in our own lives, it is all about perspective. We all have the ability to influence others with our work. We feel fortunate to be endlessly inspired by the people around us - the leaders and the soldiers in the good food movement.
We're here to remind you in turn that there is always someone inspired by what you (yes, you!) are doing. There is always someone in awe of what you can accomplish. Even if you can't see them, or you don't regularly hear from them, we'll bet our Christmas cookie stash that they are out there.
Find your people. Learn from each other. Let's all do good things together.
Cheers,
Taylor & Dorothy

America's Farmstand
The lure of an agricultural lifestyle is not unique to those of us who grew up on farms. If you hail from city or suburb, you may still recognize the yearning for dewy mornings, acres of space, and most of all, access to the freshest, ripest food there is. Todd is one of those farmer's sons who not only understands those feelings personally, but wants to bring that experience to the public - well, at least the farm fresh produce. Until they find a way to make surfing the internet as restorative as a walk in the countryside, those of us who don't live on or near a farm will have to settle for just a taste. Read More
