We post opportunities with farmers and food artisans, policy makers and purveyors, retailers and restaurateurs, economists, ecologists, and more.
the gastrognomes is a blog for food lovers who want to put their passions to work. We profile the most interesting, engaging, and unlikely food professionals that we find, and we publish them here to inspire you.
NICE THINGS PEOPLE SAY
Seeing the Good Food Jobs business grow and evolve gives me hope, and helps boost my spirits when it all seems too hard. So thanks, [because] you're finding good food jobs for people in more ways than one.

LET'S CHAT ABOUT . . .
GOOD OPPORTUNITIES
If you're short on funds, but you love to learn, we want to hear from you! We're providing $9,000 worth of scholarships to Sterling College's Vermont's Table Program this summer. Applications are due on Friday, April 13th, so check it out sooner rather than later.
GOOD CAUSES
Home/Made - a frequent poster on Good Food Jobs - recently suffered a fire at their restaurant in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but Monica and Leisah will need to replace much of their kitchen. Friends and neighbors at the Red Hook CSA are collecting whatever donations they can to help offset the repair costs. If you'd like to lend a hand with a donation, more details can be found here.
Also, Genna's raising seed (money) for seeds! If you're interested in helping fund a program that propogates seed saving culture, read more here. NOTE: The donation comes in the form of purchasing heirloom seeds, so there's a direct return on your investment!

Okay, okay, so we have another young urban professional turned farmer story for you. We couldn't help ourselves. It's not our goal to beat a dead horse, as the saying goes. But if the proof is truly in the pudding (as they also say!) then we feel it's our duty to feed you lots of pudding. Which is where Nathan comes in so obligingly. We dare you not to be inspired by his work at Relly Bub Farm, even if farming is not your goal and never has been. Read More
