Greetings Gastronomes,
We'd be lying if we said our mind was on anything but BLUEBERRIES. Whether you prefer the plump sweet varieties you can pick from a bountiful bush, or you like to squat down on the ground to painstakingly collect the little wild gems, we urge you to spend less time online and more time outside. The season only lasts a short time and then they are gone until next year.
We'll be spending the next three weeks gathering up as many as we can to freeze for Winter. This year, Taylor's spot of choice is Brown's Beautiful Blueberries in Craftsbury, VT - at least until she reunites with Dorothy later this month in Southern Vermont to pick the wild ones. However, we are remiss not to visit the laden branches of the abandoned blueberry farm that Taylor usually frequents in her home state of New Jersey. In case you come across it, be sure to let us know how the harvest is this year: Coordinates to secret abandoned blueberry farm.
And if you have a special place to pick blubes, and you're not a hoarder, let us know . . . we're happy to share with everyone via Twitter all week.

Wendy Van Wagner
Owner
In The Kitchen Cooking School & Catering
If we were to start a photo competition for best blog portrait, Wendy would be a serious contender. This image of her landed in our inbox one lucky day, and we couldn't wait to learn more about the woman in the apron. It turns out that her entrepreneurial spirit is responsible for In the Kitchen - yet another California outpost that makes us wish we were left coasters (or at least ambidextrous)! The concept of a community kitchen is one that we can really get behind - in fact, it wouldn't be so bad if all kitchens were shared spaces, so that more and more people could come together around the table. Wendy is helping make our dream come true. Read More
