Happy Monday,
Thanks to everyone who reached out with wise words about improvements and issues with the site. We're hard at work plotting how to put them all into effect, so stay tuned for news in the coming weeks, as we make additional updates to the site.
This week we write with a different request. On Saturday we are addressing the folks at the Boston University Gastronomy program - specifically speaking on how to navigate a career as a food writer. We know that interest in this particular field extends far beyond the confines of that classroom, so we want to hear from you, too! Send us your thoughts and we'll answer your questions in next week's newsletter, where we recap the event. Email us at info@goodfoodjobs.com to let us know:
-
Who are your favorite food authors? (they can write books, blogs, articles in publications, or represent your favorite food brand or farm's social media . . . but tell us: who writing makes you even more interested in food?)
-
What food related publications do you reference regularly? (again, it can be books, blogs, facebook feeds, websites, magazines, journals, etc; get creative!)
-
What is stopping you from fulfilling your dream to write about food? (can be any/all of the following: don't know how to get published, don't know what to write about, no money, health insurance, motivation, or any other reason)
-
What general questions do you have about food writing that you want us to answer?
Even though we can never claim we have all of the answers, we're always willing to do the research to find them. So don't be shy . . . write to us! Everything is so much more rich when we do it all together.

THE GASTRO.GNOMES BLOG
Vince Razionale
Sales & Marketing
Cellars at Jasper Hill
You'll soon discover that Vince is something of a renaissance man - loving food and literature alike - but as a salesman by trade he'll have you convinced that cheese (particularly VT made) is his first and only love. His mid-western charm and determination also help to explain how he found his way from college courses in the Humanities to a career in food. A recurring theme here is that experience as a server in a restaurant, or a similar entry-level job, can give you the exposure to pique your interest in food and the skills to apply to your dream job.
