Good Food Jobs is a gastro-job search tool, designed to link people looking for meaningful food work with the businesses that need their energy, enthusiasm, and intellect. We post opportunities with farmers and food artisans, policy makers and purveyors, retailers and restaurateurs, economists, ecologists, and more.
the gastrognomes is a blog for food lovers who want to put their passions to work. We profile the most interesting, engaging, and unlikely food professionals that we find, and we publish them here to inspire you.

It's officially the end of January, and if you have already given up on your new years resolutions, we urge you - please - give them another chance (clarification: we're talking about the "live my dream" resolutions, as opposed to the "stop eating ice cream and work out every day" resolutions).
We meet people all the time who are in love with food - growing it, making it, eating it, or even just talking about it. And they are all waiting for "the sign" about how they should apply their passion to their profession. Our advice is always - just put a steak (whoops . . . stake) in the ground. Do something - anything - that helps you learn more, meet more people, start more conversations, and begin moving in the right direction.
Sarah and Brianna (see below for our blog profile) realized that writing a blog helped them start a much needed dialogue to make working in the kitchen seem less isolating and intimidating and more collaborative and communal. In our case, the newsletter that we started last spring outlining the good food jobs we knew were out there, now reaches 8,000 readers.
If you have an idea, or an interest, don't be shy to pursue it. And if you ever need anything to help make it happen, let us know; we're always happy to help.

RecipeRelay.com
We are firm believers in sharing - especially when it comes to food - so it comes as no surprise that the story behind RecipeRelay.com pulls at our heartstrings. Two women from opposite sides of the U.S. meet at a Green MBA program and bond over their love of food. They create an online cookbook of sorts where they contribute, experiment with, and elaborate on recipes. And we all learn from their collective humility and ever-increasing experience as they remind us what good food is all about - seeking pleasure in preparing it and enjoying it together. Meet Sarah Maine and Brianna Bain (yes, we love that their names ryhme, too). Read more
JUST IN CASE this profile piqued your interest, the ladies of RecipeRelay.com are hiring! Get in on the ground floor and apply to be their Research and Social Media Guru.
