NICE THINGS PEOPLE SAY
"I applied for the Great Performances job posting you had up a few weeks ago and . . . today was my first day of work! I couldn't be more excited about this opportunity and I have your site to thank for putting me in touch. The process worked seemlessly."
- Lauren, (no longer a) Job Seeker
"I am thrilled that you have put this website together! Thanks from people like me who are occassionally looking for the next good opportunity out there. It's great to not have to wade through tons of jobs that have nothing to do with food!"

As we write to you from the cold climes of snowy VT and Brooklyn, respectively, we can't help but be warmed by the businesses making incredible strides to not only serve their companies, but their communities.
A week before Taylor's move to the Northeast Kingdom, we heard of a devastating fire at neighboring Pete's Greens that not only burned their existing barn, but also a new addition, all of their vegetable washing and processing equipment, the walk-in coolers and freezer, and all of their harvested crops. Needless to say, this type of loss can ruin a business.
But as Pete's has been good to the community, the community is rising to help them in kind. A community auction of donated items begins today. Pete is hopeful that their new facility will be built and running by April, so that he can continue to provide the folks of the greater Craftsbury community with fresh food. If you are in any position to provide support (or at the very least, spread the word), then pass along the information and/or donate to the cause: http://www.petesgreens.com/Fire.html
And for those looking for inspiration on how to build their own businesses, check out Taylor's current read: The Company We Keep. It's sure to keep you energized during this cold, snowy winter we're experiencing.
Stay warm out there,
Taylor & Dorothy

Alan Someck
President, Keystone Hospitality Solutions
Director, Green Hospitality Initiative
It seems as though everyone's going green these days, including restaurants. While the tasty presence of locally sourced ingredients may appear obvious to the consumer - the proof is often printed plainly on the menu - there's another greening going on behind-the-scenes in NYC restaurants. And Alan is the man behind it all. With more then two decades of hospitality experience, he's using his knowledge and expertise to identify less obvious ways for restaurants to run more efficiently. Waste removal, energy efficiency, and water conservation might not be as glamorous as heirloom potatoes, but the compounding effects of his design solutions are saving significant funds for restaurants.
