Tandem Coffee Roasters is a busy, little (mostly) wholesale coffee roaster located in Portland, Maine's East Bayside neighborhood with an intimate cafe in the front building. We also have a bustling bakery location called Tandem Coffee + Bakery on Congress St. in Portland's West End neighborhood! This bakery is housed in a beautiful old body repair shop and is always bursting at the seams with pastries and pies. This second location has been in operation for over 4 years and has a loyal following, and a fun team atmosphere.

Tandem Bakery is looking for an enthusiastic full-time morning baker to join our team. We are a small shop with a team of five bakers, as well as baristas and counter staff! We are always busy, and working as a team to make a wide range of pastries, cakes, some breads, and savory things as well. We bake from scratch every day, and we have high standards for taste, presentation, and quality. We are looking for candidates with an interest in pastry, pies, scones, and in general, classic American style baking.
3-5 years experience is a MUST.

Specific duties include but are not limited to:
-preparing all pastries and recipes each morning to the highest standard possible
-planning, organizing, scheduling, and directing self and others during busy production shifts. ie: understanding the flow of the day and working to acheive daily and weekly goals.
-estimating needs of the team and the day in regards to inventory and supplies
-assisting in development and testing of new recipes
-maintaining a clean, tidy, organized, and efficient workspace.
-standing, bending, lifting, cleaning, and other physical tasks.
