Consider Bardwell Farm is a small but nationally acclaimed, award-winning producer of raw milk cow and goat cheeses, located in a rural region in Southwestern Vermont.  Our farming practices are traditional, but our production facility operates under strict FSMA-compliant guidelines that require tight logistics and cooperation from all staff.  

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, full-time worker to assist our cheese makers and our operations coordinator.  Duties include caring for cheeses in our aging rooms, regular cleaning of the plant, and assisting during cheese makes as well as helping with packing and shipping cheeses to customers. Prior creamery experience not necessary, but candidate should be interested in cleanliness, locally sourced food, and a calm work environment.

• Quality System Awareness

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Required to lift at least 50 pounds
• Regularly required to stand, bend, reach and move about the facility

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

• Non-slip shoes
• Gloves
• Hairnet and/or beard net
• No jewelry
• No cosmetics or perfume
• Uniform, lab coat, boots/non-slip shoes are provided

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Work performed in a combination of warehouse and food manufacturing environments
• Exposed to shop elements such as moisture and cold.
