Stonestreet is located just outside the town of Healdsburg, California, a world-renowned travel destination that is at the confluence of the Russian River, Alexander Valley and Dry Creek Valley in Northern Sonoma County. We are looking for an experienced Assistant Winemaker to work at our estate winery who has experience from the vine to the wine.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under general direction of the Winemaster, this position will coordinate & review all cellar activities and vineyard direction planning. Responsible for maintaining quality of bulk inventory. Will manage day-to-day functions of Winery for all brands, maintain records for all internal wine movements. May conduct educational tours / tastings as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties/Responsibilities (but not limited to):

• Create daily work list and work orders to fulfill TTB document requirements.
• Oversee daily cellar operation for Stonestreet to meet production requirements & schedules.
• Work with Winemakers on a variety of wine and vineyard projects.
• Responsible for quality control oversight of both lab & cellar functions.
• Supervise daily cellar operations with Cellar
• Master to assure quality standards are met.
• Participate in the blending decisions for brands.
• Development of ongoing wine making procedures, and help to develop and implement new practices..
• Maintain entries in winemaking database (BIMS)
• Work orders & inventory control for the facility.
• Operation & coordination of blend trials.
• Work with Winemakers and Vineyard Managers to gain knowledge of estate vineyards and refine vineyard practices.
• Conduct trials on vineyard practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Requires BS Degree in Enology, Viticulture or related.
• Must have 3 - 5 years plus of “hands-on” wine production and vineyard experience.
• Supervisory & winery experience is required.
• Must have intermediate word & excel skills.
• Understanding of costing & inventory preferred.
