Job Description Farmers’ Market Cheese Sales Person Wanted! 

Cato Corner Farm, a family-owned dairy farm making award-winning cheeses, is seeking a personable, motivated individual to help sell cheese.  Primary responsibilities include:

• Sell cheese at the busy Union Square Farmers’ Market every Saturday, all year round.
• Educate customers about our farm and our cheese. Represent our products and our philosophy to customers. 
• Help set up and/or take down our market stand including tents, tables, displays

Hours: 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. (hours may vary slightly) every Saturday at the Union Square Farmers’ Market, New York City Starting Salary: $14/hour (check issued every 2 weeks) Training will begin in October.  The market runs every Saturday all year, rain or shine & cold or hot!  Applicants should be available throughout the entire year. 

Additional opportunities may be available to represent our cheese to restaurants. 

Experience and Skills: Applicants should be enthusiastic, intelligent, and articulate with excellent people skills.  Knowledge of our cheese is not necessary, but you should enjoy cheese and be committed to local, sustainable food.  Customer service experience is important; you must be able to maintain professionalism and poise while working efficiently under pressure.  Good basic math skills are useful!   You will be outdoors and on your feet for the entire shift, and should be able to lift 40 lbs easily.  Must work well with others!  Compensation this position is : hourly How to apply Deadlineno deadline
