Job Description The FruitGuys is America's premier provider of farm-fresh fruit to businesses nationwide. Position:  Philadelphia Distribution Lead (Sharon Hill, PA)

Responsibilities: The ideal candidate is excited about helping the team achieve our customer commitment. He or she will manage all daily distribution activities,including:
Vendor Management
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with existing and future shipment carriers and couriers
  • Meeting quarterly with all vendors to address service needs and improvements
  • Arrange logistics and request credits when needed
  • Maintaining updated carrier documents
  • Collaborating with the National Distribution Manager to identify new carriers and negotiate service and rate agreements
  • Detail oriented - review and approve distribution invoices and ensuring accuracy of reporting
Routing, Tracking and Customer Service
  • Identifying deliveries that need extra attention and/or are experiencing consistent issues and proactively working with the distribution team and couriers to ensure needs are addressed
  • Reviewing daily Start Date reports to proactively communicate any requests to the drivers
  • Working directly with the Retention team to resolve delivery issues
  • Assist the development of courier ratings or methods to objectively rate East Coast couriers on cost, service level, delivery times and other appropriate criteria
  • Following up with couriers to ensure all boxes are delivered on schedule
  • Creating new routes to eliminate issues and improve customer satisfaction
  • Ensuring that all drivers are safely handling our product as well as following food safety and organic protocols
  • Communicating with couriers and updating Customer Service of any issues that arise that could potentially alter or delay any deliveries
Print Shipping Labels
  • Review pending orders for accuracy
  • Print all shipping labels and prepare them for Production
  • Ensure any customer changes are added or removed from production before shipping
Standards, Certifications and Metrics
  • Ensure budgets, deadlines, and quality and brand standards are met for whole department
  • Collect metrics data and develop strategy to meet performance goals and maximize customer satisfaction
  • Ensure training on and compliance with company and industry standards
Department Leadership
  • Work with all internal departments to solve any distribution related problems
  • Assist in developing distribution team members, helping them grow professionally as our business continues to grow
  • Providing cost analysis, design methods, and implement plans for increasing the efficiency of the department
  • Collaborating with the Operations Manager to ensure best practices are maintained
  • Working with the technology team to optimize shipping software
  • Any additional projects as necessary for the growth and efficiency of the department
  • Supervisor and develop one additional person
  • Problem Solver – analysis of trends and coming up with workable solutions

Additional Requirements:
  • Proven ability in working with and managing people from different walks of life
  • Vendor management and negotiations experience
  • Strong computer skills on Microsoft Office and Google Programs
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Forklift experience preferred
Schedule: Full Time (40 hours per week),  9am-5pm , Monday to Friday.  Schedule may fluctuate due to Company needs.
