Job Duties: The manager will develop and execute an events sales strategy that supports sales goals across wholesale, retail, café and event businesses, while driving interest in the Local Foods event space and unique local food expertise to corporate, restaurant, public and non-profit prospects. The Outside Event Manager will coordinate logistics for outside events (including staffing, timelines, vendor schedules, load-ins, set-ups, etc.) This is an opportunity for a creative and thoughtful contributor to build and manage an events program with a one-of-a-kind organization. The role may be on a contractual or employment basis. It is estimated to be part-time through 2015, and then become a full-time role based on event sales. The position requires a strong background in event sales and event planning, and candidates must possess excellent customer service, managerial, and communications skills, and the proven ability to meet event sales goals.
Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to:
• Manage events strategy and overall events revenue goals and expenses
• Work closely with marketing personnel to build content database and event sales marketing tools
• Research, identify, and secure clients for third party rentals through cold calling solicitations and marketing initiatives, including digital and social media outreach.
• Build and maintain existing client relationships in order to increase repeat business
• Manage event calendar and billing
• Update and maintain reports tracking inquiries and sales
• Coordinate with internal and external customers in a professional, error-free and timely manner
• Steward customer event experience
• Work closely with store director, wholesale team, and kitchen team to execute outside events
Requirements/Qualifications:
• 4 yr. college degree or equivalent work experience
• 3 years of special events and/or event sales experience; corporate event experience a plus
• A passion and talent for customer service and event management
• A proven ability to meet and exceed sales goals
• Able to work nontraditional, but sustainable hours including evenings and weekends/holidays (to oversee/manage events; conduct client meetings and walk-throughs)
• Enthusiasm and interest in working in a fast-paced start-up company culture
• Comfortable and agile with technology and web environments
• Strong knowledge of and passion for food and beverage
• Attentive to detail
