The intern will be coordinating activities for our COP21 project. This includes acting as liaison with civil society movements in France as well as the United Nations and governmental institutions.
Excellent research and computer skills required and fluency in French a plus (basic French is required). Excellent writing/editing skills and knowledge of media outreach is also required.
Requirements:
- Excellent organizational skills—this position will be submitting proposals for CFS workshops, panel presentations and other activities that we will organize in Paris; coordinating speaker and staff accommodations and schedules; coordinating some media education and outreach with French and international media; maintaining timelines/schedules; coordinating communication among team members; and more.
- Knowledge of international institutions such as the United Nations.
- Good understanding of climate change issues.
- Computer skills, including some working experience with design software and mass email programs such as Mail Chimp, Filemaker, or similar programs.
- Media Outreach including assisting in creating media outreach campaign; acting liaison with media; and creating media materials.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Strong interest in sustainable agriculture and food, organics and knowledge about the harms of the industrial food system
- Excellent interpersonal skills and patience for a diverse working atmosphere & membership
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Organized and multi-task oriented
- Experience with database entry and management
- Familiarity with collecting, analyzing, and summarizing reliable research
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
