Job Description No More Empty Pots (NMEP) is a grassroots non-profit corporation that connects individuals and groups to improve self-sufficiency, regional food security and economic resiliency of urban and rural communities through advocacy and action.

No More Empty Pots' vision is to support communities in becoming self-sufficient and food secure through collaboration and adherence to our core values of Education: Consumers, Producers and Our Youth; Stewardship: Land Use and Community Resources; and Sustainability: Triple Bottom Line - People, Planet, and Profit.

Position Description:

No More Empty Pots (NMEP) is seeking a passionate, energetic, experienced fundraising professional to lead all aspects of our fundraising efforts. We are looking for a champion with enthusiasm for changing the landscape of our local food system. Reporting to the Executive Director and working with staff and contractors as needed, the Development Director will identify and research individual, corporate and foundation prospects, will facilitate communication with donors and sponsors, will manage the gift acknowledgement and stewardship process, and will coordinate all fundraising events and other special events as needed. The successful candidate will ensure that the highest quality of service is provided to all donors and partners. This position will be instrumental in securing capital and operating costs for No More Empty Pots projects and programs as well as establish an endowment fund.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead funding proposal development, reporting, communications, marketing and donor stewardship
• Plan and lead networking and fundraising events
• Develop content as needed for online and print media
• Compile monthly reports
• Monitor and develop social media content and posting, engage with online community, and refer questions to appropriate staff members
• Provide support as necessary to the Executive Director and other staff members

Principal Responsibilities:
• Provide strong leadership and direction with Executive Director and other members of the Leadership Team to develop and implement strategies to support fund development and stewardship
• Develop and steward relationships with individuals, corporate, business, and foundation supporters
• Supervise staff and volunteers as needed
• Self-starter and ability to work independently
• Excellent written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Ability to interact effectively with co-workers, members, and the general public
• Superior work ethic and careful attention to detail
• Highest degree of personal and professional ethics
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, Google Docs and donor software
• Experience in developing a major gifts program
• Create and maintain accurate database records for all donors, prospects, and funding opportunities
• Generate reports from the database and assist with general analysis of data

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• Knowledge of and experience with sustainable local foods systems
• Work experience in fundraising and/or sales and marketing

This is a paid position with pay commensurate with experience and skills.

Work Site:
No More Empty Pots is located in the Florence neighborhood of North Omaha. Staff consist of employees and independent contractors and there are many concurrent projects. Because of this, applicants must be highly motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Duties are generally performed in an indoor setting but also includes outdoor events. This is work requiring the successful candidate to lift or carry 10 to 20 pounds occasionally and lift and push objects. Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and handle objects. Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for up to several hours. Some overnight travel may be required. Compensation this position is : salaried How to apply
