The Agri‐Cultura Network (ACN) is dedicated to supporting its member farms in the South Valley and addressing issues of food security in vulnerable communities in New Mexico. ACN is a developing farmer‐owned cooperative that aggregates, markets and sells locally grown, organic produce to wholesale and individual customers in Albuquerque. Established in 2011 by a partnership between the American Friends Service Committee and three community organizations in the South Valley, ACN has expanded to 11 farms with a steadily growing client list. ACN is committed to being farmer‐owned and will continue to provide the best value to both farmers and our customers for healthy, locally grown food. 

Position Description:

ACN is hiring its first General Manager. This position will be responsible for driving operational excellence and growth of the organization while maintaining fidelity to the organization’s mission.

Specifically, over the next three years, the General Manager will be responsible for the following: 

• Grow annual gross revenue to a level in excess of $1 million. 
• Professionalize operations, apply industry best practices and improve operational efficiency and quality. 
• Expand the membership of the network to meet the growing market demand for its products by recruiting other farms and partnering in efforts to create more new farms. 
• Fully develop ACN’s three lines of business (Wholesale “Fresh List”, La Cosecha Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, and its “Salad Machine” greens business) and drive growth in each of them. 
• Seek grant opportunities and generate proposals for funding and contracts from USDA, foundations, government agencies and other organizations. 

The ideal candidate will have 3‐5 years experience successfully managing an operationally intensive enterprise, preferably related to agricultural or food products.

• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus 
• Willingness and ability to serve as public spokesperson for ACN

This full‐time position is based at the South Valley Economic Development Center (SVEDC) and reports to the Board of Directors by providing a detailed update at monthly board meetings.
