Job Description Videri Chocolate Factory is a bean-to-bar chocolate factory, retail space, cafe and generally fun & exciting place to work. We're in the heart of the warehouse district in downtown Raleigh, right across the street from The Pit and in the same building as Tasty Beverage.

We're looking for a motivated, hard-working and enthusiastic team member to help us fulfill chocolate production goals and help us in our mission to be the best chocolate maker in the South.

Requisites

High school education, GED or higher required
  • Intermediate math skills
  • Intermediate problem solving skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without threat to health or safety of yourself or others
  • Appreciation for chocolate
  • Displayed aptitude for food production
  • Ability to discern different flavors in chocolate
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite    
Responsibilities  
Assist in daily chocolate production  
Conduct general chocolate production
  • Operation of tempering machine process (pulling chocolate bars)
  • Chopping raw chocolate
  • Chopping cocoa butter
  • Dish washing  
Learn and eventually exhibit a general knowledge of day-to-day operations and best practices of chocolate production  
Communicating with management and various departments
  • Maintaining an open line of communication with the executive team and reporting any number of data points as requested by management
  • Maintaining open lines of communication with any number of departments as it pertains to production  
Assisting in the fulfillment of production goals
  • Fulfilling production goals set by management
  • Reporting any number of variables contributing to the fulfillment of goals or, conversely, unfulfilled goals   
Operating light chocolate machinery
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of the operation of all chocolate production machinery  
Heavy lifting of raw goods
  • Maintaining the ability to lift a minimum of 40lbs without risk of injury to yourself or others  
Conducting inventory + data
  • Collecting and reporting data regarding inventory on hand
  • Recording inventory data by methods approved by management
  • Recording production data by methods approved by management
  • Reporting data to management as requested  
Quality control
  • Coordinate with production manager on the standard of quality required of all chocolate bars converted into sellable units  
Maintaining a clean work environment
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and good working order of your work space
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and good working order of machinery  
Compliance with health + safety standards
  • Compliance with federal and local health + safety laws
  • Compliance with internal health + safety standards  
Hours  
This is a part time position
  • 25-30 hrs weekly
  • Staff will be given schedules 1 week in advance
Plusses
  • 2-3 years experience in the food production or service industry
  • Experience with chocolate (making or cooking w/)
