Job Description Profeta Farms, LLC is doing something very unique. We have 370 acres at the intersection of Route 202 South and Summer Road in Readington, New Jersey. We have site plan approval for a 12,000 square foot farm store at that intersection where 43,000 cars per day go by. We are creating a store which offers the shopper the opportunity to buy all of their food with one shopping trip to one location offering grass fed dairy, beef, pork, poultry, eggs, and vegetables, all certified organic and all grown on that farm. We are in the process of erecting barns, a milking center, and a creamery so that we can make our own milk, butter, ice cream and other dairy products from the milk harvested on our farm. We are erecting a slaughterhouse so we can butcher the livestock on site. We feel that this is the way the country should be fed from local, sustainable, certified organic grass fed based agriculture. KNOWLEDGE NEEDED:
• Swine Nutrition (all classes of livestock)
• Management of the various classes of animals
• Swine Reproduction
• Certified Organic management methods

SKILLS NEEDED:
• Analysis of production records and planning for future production.
• Development of operational & infrastructure plans
• Tools and Equipment used for growing
• Labor management
• Good people and communication skills - including the ability to teach and learn.
• Financial and yield management skills.

The pork manager must be able to work at a fast pace and encourage & motivate a highly efficient crew as well as balance all aspects of the operation – planning, field work, managing crew, record-keeping, etc. Must have excellent communication skills, a good attitude, and be physically capable of working long days and lifting 50+ lbs. A successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience with pork, tractor experience, and be able to contribute ideas on how to expand and diversify the operation.
