Job Description This position will be responsible for conducting the outreach tasks associated with all WAC programs. Communicating WAC’s progress and successes will require strong written and verbal skills, experience in directing graphic design, print and multimedia, creativity and a high degree of motivation. 

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Associates Degree in related field, Bachelors Degree desired
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including graphics and layout.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups including farm families, media and public agencies.
  • Three years of experience related to the responsibilities outlined above.
  • Must have a valid and current driver’s license
 Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and support a WAC Communication Plan that outlines a comprehensive outreach strategy for all WAC programs, activities and events.
  • Assist the executive director and board through the development of outreach and presentation materials that effectively communicate WAC’s vision.
  • Produce and distribute outreach materials as per the deliverables in the WAC/DEP contract.
  • Develop and maintain web sites for all WAC programs.
  • Coordinate or participate in at least 6 - 3 upstate/ 3 downstate media or public relations events per year. These events should be held in both the watershed region and in New York City.
  • Produce progress reports as needed to document the accomplishments of WAC programs.
  • Produce and/or coordinate photography, fact sheets, brochures, exhibits and other visual materials including Power Point presentations.
  • Prepare press releases and program updates on a regular basis.
  • Work collaboratively with program managers to write narratives for grant applications.
  • Manage Outreach sub-contractors such as for graphic design and web site production.
  • Provide technical assistance to the Farm to Market Program, on-line store, and Pure Catskills membership related to the development of new initiatives and application of internal and external marketing strategies and tactics.
 Reporting Relationships:
  • Works under the direct supervision of the WAC Executive Director
