Executive Director  
The Copper River/Prince William Sound Marketing Association (CRPWSMA) seeks qualified candidates for the position of Executive Director.   Founded in 2005, the CRPWSMA is an Alaska Regional Seafood Development Association with the mission of increasing and sustaining the long-term value of seafood products in the Prince William Sound (PWS) region through programs focused on quality, marketing, cooperative partnerships and competent organizational functioning.  

POSITION: Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the CRPWSMA, its staff, budget, programs, membership and mission.  

RESPONSIBILITIS:  
Leadership & Management: 
Work closely with the CRPWSMA President and Board of Directors to plan, and implement programs that fulfill strategic plan and mission for the organization. Develop and execute annual work plans and project management in line with strategic priorities: brand enhancement, quality enhancement, cooperative partnerships, research & education, and organizational functioning. Stay current on organizational and fishery related news, events and developments. Oversee day-to-day operations of the CRPWSMA.
  • Hire and supervise all CRPWSMA staff.
  • Manage relationships with all contractors and consultants, including developing RFPs, contracts, budgets, overseeing projects and maintaining communications.  
Board & Member Relations:
  • Act as the point person for all member and board questions and concerns.
  • Keep the board informed of organizational programs, events, developments and issues.
  • Plan and manage monthly CRPWSMA board meetings and annual membership meeting including developing agendas with the Board President, compiling board packets and posting meeting notices.   Communications & Relationships ·       Fleet communication: Write and distribute newsletters to the membership twice a year. Work to expand email list for fleet and send regular email updates.
  • Continue to develop relationships with processors and fishery stakeholders to maintain open communication about CRPWSMA, it’s projects and goals.
  • Press: Write and distribute timely press releases about projects, events and season announcements.
  • Database maintenance: maintain and continue to develop membership and customer databases. Work to expand retail, food service and media contact lists. Maintain up-to-date and accurate membership lists including assessed and non-assessed members.  
Financial
  • The ED is responsible for all fiscal management of the organization Developing annual and program budgets, tracking and reporting throughout the fiscal year to the finance committee and board. Complying with all state and federal government regulations, audits and tax filings Supervising bookkeeper and managing accountant relationships.  
QUALIFICATIONS: The ED will be thoroughly committed to fulfilling CRPWSMAs mission. Candidates should have proven leadership and project management experience and will posses many, if not all of the following characteristics:
  • At least five years of successful experience in a relevant occupation.
  • Of particular interest are applicants with experience in marketing and fisheries.
  • Experience working with Board of Directors and non-profit organizations
  • Demonstrable skills in administration, organization and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, develop and follow work plans and maintain strong internal and external working relationships.
  • Graphic design experience a plus Computer literacy including MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, online communications and social media engagement.  
  • Financial management experience Bachelors Degree in a relevant field.   
COMPENSATION: The starting annual salary range for this position is $45,000-$75,000, depending on experience, with benefits including health and paid time off.    Compensation this position is How to apply
