Job Description
Seeking an affable general manager for our Ligurian inspired restaurant in Bushwick. This position is perfect for someone with fine dining service and management experience looking to take the reigns of a unique establishment. In addition to the restaurant, we have access to an event space which presents boundless opportunity for developing a special events calendar and shaping to the character of our neighborhood.
We treat our management, staff, and guests with the utmost hospitality and respect. Candidates must be professional, generous, and supportive of their colleagues--able to enforce policy and demand attention to detail with a gentle touch.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily restaurant operations
- Hire and train staff to follow set standards of service
- Review employee performance
- Manage product and labor costs
- Handle inventory, scheduling, ordering, light HR, invoice entering, daily menu updates
- Manage reservations
- Develop positive relationships with guests and create goodwill within the neighborhood
- Develop and grow special event calendar and sales
- Spearhead social media and PR initiatives
Qualifications
- At least 2-3 years of comparable GM experience in a fine dining environment
- Food Protection Certificate
- Extensive knowledge of Italian and French wines, amari, and cocktails
- Mac and social media savvy
- InDesign knowledge a plus
- Familiarity with iPad based POS systems
