The Assistant Manager must be able to work a flexible schedule including Saturdays and some holidays.
Assistant Manager Duties and Responsibilities:
- Purchasing, ordering, merchandising, marketing.
- Develop relationships with our group of large and small suppliers.
- Execute opening and closing procedures, reporting daily sales and financials.
- Management of inventory reports, sales, ordering, receiving, physical inventory.
- Assist Store Manager in all store operations (hiring, training, evaluations, scheduling).
- Assist with stocking product.
- Create and maintain displays.
- Help with order check-out.
- Make cuts of deli meat and cheese to order.
- Accurately process all cash and electronic tender sales, making change correctly.
- Accurately ring up all sales.
- Receive and resolve guest complaints.
- Answer questions regarding products, including knowledge of local products / farmers.
- Assist with cleaning tasks.

Safety and Sanitation:
- Assists in maintaining a clean store environment.
- Maintains a clean, organized work area at all times.
- Maintains neat professional appearance and observes personal cleanliness rules at all times.
- Adheres to local health and safety regulations.
- Practices proper food handling including sanitizing of work surfaces, proper hand-washing, and FIFO, etc.
- Maintains complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; using equipment and tools only as intended and safely.

- Experience working in a high volume environment.

- The ability to work Saturdays and some holidays.
- Experience working in food retail sales or the foodservice/hospitality industry is a plus.
