First, what is Peck's?
Peck's is a prepared food shop that serves house-made specialties of the most flavorful, satisfying, and comforting variety. Noshes and such include morning baked goods, espresso, coffee, house-made charcuterie, smoked meats, rotisserie chicken, expertly prepared foods, soups, salads, sandwiches, artisan cheeses, crusty breads, growlers of beer and more.
What I am looking for in a candidate?
Coffee or Cheese or Sand Art might be your passion, but then again so might be being an artist or writer or actor or grad student. I want you to have a passion for not only coffee, espresso, cheese, eating, etc but also for people, life, and your own interests. By working for my establishment, you are essentially committing to help me make my passions a reality. So, I want the people who work at Peck's to respect that fact, as I will promise to respect their passions.
Employees of Peck's are making some of our most important first impressions with the community; needless to say, I want it to be a good first impression, being aloof is probably not a first good impression.
We are looking for someone who is courteous, friendly, organized, hard working, on time, lover of good food, and has strong verbal skills. I would like you to be engaging and intelligent, someone who can treat all customers with the same level of respect and kindness.
Passion and respect aren't the only requirements for the job. Ideally, you are experienced as a barista and/or food person. If you are the right fit and have limited experience, no worries, we can work with you to get you up to speed.
Duties beyond making the coffee and espresso, and cutting cheese and slicing meats:
