Job Description About Chatham's Eden Hall Campus:

Position Description:

Duties:

  • Assist the Director of Sustainable Agriculture in implementing the Eden Hall Farm plan including research plots, curriculum support related to majors in Food Studies and Sustainability degrees, year-round fruit and vegetable production, alternative energy sources, and aquaqaponics.  
  • The Educator will assist in coordinating various aspects of high tunnel vegetable and seedling production from bed preparation to seed starting, harvesting, and marketing in collaboration with Chatham students, staff and faculty. 
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records for greenhouses, gardens, fields and research plots as part of the Eden Hall Farm plan.   
Qualifications:
  • The successful candidate will have experience in gardening, sustainable agriculture practices, greenhouse growing, and interest in public service. 
  • Writing skills as well as physical stamina for farm and field work are necessary.  
  • This position will assist the Director of Sustainable Agriculture, Chatham faculty and the community with agricultural production and applied research projects at Eden Hall.  
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, with at least 3 years’ experience (Master’s Degree preferred) and demonstrated interest in organic and IPM agriculture practices are required.  
  • Ability to provide practical, applied educational opportunities related to a Master’s Degree in Food Studies and a Masters in Sustainability is required.
