Nestled in the Beautiful Berkshire hills lies The Meat Market; most definitely not your ordinary butcher shop. At the Market, we practice old world traditions on a daily basis as we break down whole, locally raised animals for various forms of production. The Meat Market offers, locally and sustainably raised meat in our butcher case, a large selection of cured meats and pates as well as a cafe for lunch and wood fired dinner service.
The Meat Market is currently seeking an experienced individual with a passion for cooking. The position we are looking to fill is the Cafe Cook position. The position is Full time and currently seasonal (May-November), with the potential to become year round.
The job duties include:
Preparing and cooking simple, but perfectly executed lunches for customers of the Butcher Shop, about 30 lunches
a day.
Preparing and cooking dinners for the outdoor, wood fired cafe.
Providing backup support for catering, as needed.
You will also have daily exposure to the following:
Charcuterie production
Whole animal breakdown
Preserving the seasons harvest
Ideal candidates possess these qualities:

Work well with a small team
Positive “can do” mindset
The Meat Market is comprised of a cozy, tight knit group of very hard working people. Everyone is here because they want to be. Noteworthy: Though this job is a busy one, we do allow you to go home at the end of the night and also include 2 days off in your schedule.
