About RecipeRelay

RecipeRelay.com is an online resource for seasonal recipes – a team effort to unlock culinary imaginations while supporting, inspiring and educating about seasonal, local and sustainable food.  Each week we publish seasonally inspired food and drink recipes developed by contributors around the country. We started in June of 2010 and have built a rich collection of recipes full of yumminess and creativity, all connected by a growing community of mindful foodies. Our mission is to become THE place for seasonal and locally inspired recipes.

About the Position

RecipeRelay.com is seeking a Research and Social Media Intern who is motivated, organized and internet-savvy to support our social media and community network building goals.  This is a perfect opportunity  for someone wanting to gain experience in online community building and social media marketing.  This position is ideal for someone with food blogging experience who is interested in being involved in the start-up phase of an exciting entrepreneurial adventure.  

Qualifications

• Passion for food and cooking
• Reliable, organized and hardworkingExcellent writing and communication skills
• Experience with Wordpress platform
• Experience with various social media platforms (Facebook and Twitter a must!)
• Experience with HTML and/or CSS is a plus.
• A strong interest in marketing and social networking.
• Comfortable with teleconferencing (Skype, video g-chat, iChat)
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Comfortable working flexible hours

Responsibilities

• Updating social media accounts several times per day.
• Finding relevant content and issue related articles to share with the RecipeRelay.com community.
• Research options for building a custom social network.
• Research applications which support user generated content.
• Research additional social networking tools and methods for maximizing social media presence.
• Provide programming support for design upgrades.
• General social media marketing and development support.

Requirements

• Passion for food and cooking (yes, it’s that important to us!)
• Interest in spreading the word about sustainable food systems and inspiring everyone to eat local and seasonal food.
• Ability to work quickly and independently.
• Respond promptly to email correspondence.
• Available for a 3 month commitment.
