Summary
Sells produce at Farmer’s Markets by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Loads van with produce and supplies for stall.

Drives van to Farmer’s Market locations.

Sets up displays and stocks baskets, coolers, counter, bins, tables, containers, or trays with new merchandise.

Creates signage and marks price on merchandise.

Fills customer order by obtaining items from displays, coolers, bins, tables, or containers.

Weighs items to determine price, total sale, and informs customer of total price of purchases.

Receives payment from customer for purchases and makes change.

Promotes farm events, connects customer to where their food is grown.

Bags or wraps purchases for customer.

Cleans shelves, bins, tables, and coolers.

Ensures adequate change for cash registers by completing change orders and procuring change from bank.

Settles cash register accounts.

Takes down stall and cleans area at the end of the day.

Returns supplies and unsold produce to warehouse. Participates in share of warehouse cleanup.

Prepares reports as needed.

Ability to get along and work effectively with others is required.

Regular, predictable attendance is required.
Qualifications
-
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred; one to three months related experience and/or training preferred.

Must have demonstrated interest in local, organic produce and sustainable agriculture.

Must be available to work weekends and some holidays.
