Lake Street Supply is a small but growing company committed to improving city life in meaningful and sustainable ways with a focus on environmental products and systems. We are looking for a hard-working, organize person to assist in managing day-to-day operations as well as expanding and improving growing aspects of our business including soils, organics and urban agriculture. We offer a casual but active workday with a kind staff and loyal customer base. Our location is in Chicago and convenient to buses, trains, and expressways.
Responsibilities:

Create and/or implement management systems pertaining to customer support, employee management, and equipment maintenance

Provide expertise to customers and staff re: soils, compost, organics, etc.

Improve merchandising of products, especially soils and organics
-
Contribute to product line development

Assist with point-of-scale and phone-in business

Create and maintain safety/security protocols

Participate fully as a member of the team, including helping with customer loading and other projects/duties as they rise
Qualifications:
-
Degree in horticulture and/or business
-
Experience with or knowledge of horticulture
-
Exposure to construction materials
-
Background/interest in urban agriculture
-
Retail or sales experience
-
Organized, assertive, hard-working, eager for responsibility

Able to work long, early seasonal hours in a bustling workplace
-
Comfortable in sales role
-
Ability to carry up to 75 pounds and climb up and down skids up to 4 feet tall
