My girlfriend's 40th birthday is coming in February. I would like to give to her a good experience - a conversation - with a kindred spirit: someone else who also loves food and travel and can discuss it in an educated and knowing fashion. I unfortunately eat food in gulps without a whit of understanding of it.
She loves nothing more than food and travel. In fact, she has a map on her wall that she has put pins into the countries to which she has traveled, gone to supermarkets, and simply contemplated the foodstuffs available.
In an attempt to do something meaningful for her birthday I'm thinking outside the box. I could take her to a restaurant, but it's been done before. And since she loves connecting with people over food, I want to give her the unique experience of 'meeting' a kindred spirit, and having a virtual lunch date.
Just a conversation over the phone with someone who understands food from around the world quite well. The what, the how, and especially the why of food types and preparation around the world.
If you are the type of person that enjoys traveling to a foreign country and then spends time in that country's supermarkets as part of some process of discovery, please do respond.
Travel and Food bloggers are especially encouraged to apply.
I would like to arrange at least one hour-long phone conversation between yourself and my girlfriend on or about her birthday in February.
Admittedly I don't know the going rate for such a service, but I am happy pay a fair rate for your time.
I know it's an odd request, but if you are adventurous, like to meet and talk to new people about food, and would like to join this experiment in gift-giving, then I'd love to hear from you.
You never know, you may just make a new friend! Compensation this position is How to apply
